An Application
In 1SA 20:20, Jonathan was smart to think ahead and set himself and David up for the next interaction that'd have no witnesses who would report back to the king. / 1SA 20:30 is the only reference to Saul's wife besides 1SA 14:49-50, but clearly Saul was simply throwing his own wife under the bus, as there's no evidence she'd ever done anything wrong or disloyal. She raised a good kid in Jonathan, which was kind of the point: Saul couldn't stand genuine goodness, which is sadly a recurring theme.
Connect the Dots
Compare 1SA 20:31 and 14:49-50. This was a sad attempt by Saul to avoid the curse he earned in 1SA 15:27-28. How far Saul has come since 1SA 9:21. / Compare 1SA 20:41 to RO 16:16, 1CO 16:20, 2CO 13:12, and 1TH 5:26.
